Our Elders

My family moved around a lot when I was growing up, but I spent formative years in Harrisburg, NC. I was raised by believing parents and came to personal faith in Jesus Christ at a young age through their witness. During college, I grew to desire vocational ministry, so after graduation I moved to Louisville, KY to pursue education at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary where I completed a Master of Divinity (MDiv) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in New Testament. During most of these years, I worked with middle and high school students at Clifton Baptist Church. I took the role of Lead Pastor at Floyds Knobs Baptist Church in 2021 and love being part of this family! My role is providing week-by-week preaching, pastoral care, and prayer to our church family as we seek to follow Jesus together. I'm married to Emily, and have two young children.

Lead Pastor

I was born and raised in southern Indiana. I came to faith as a teenager when I was invited by a friend to attend their youth group. I attended Indiana State University and received a B.S. in Geology. During my college years, I began serving as a regular member of worship teams, but it wasn't until after I graduated that I felt the Lord calling me to serve in the ministry. I served as a worship leader and/or worship pastor for over fourteen years. The church my family and I were serving at eventually closed, and we were on the lookout for another place we could call home. We were invited to bring our kids to FKBC's VBS that summer, and we've been here ever since. I am married to my wonderful wife Ashley, and we are blessed to have two amazing children. I serve currently as a member of the worship team and as a lay elder where I am privileged to be discipling younger men.

Lay Elder

I was born and raised in Northern Ireland, coming to faith at an early age through the influence of believing parents. It was in my late teens that a good friend began to really disciple me and teach me what it was to follow Christ and live 'worthy of the gospel.' From my early twenties I have had a desire to serve in pastoral ministry and the Lord allowed me this privilege in my then local church, where I served for 5 years. I moved to Louisville in 2021 to study at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated in 2024 with my MDiv. I now serve as the associate pastor at Floyds Knobs baptist church.

I'm married to my beautiful wife, Lynda and we have been blessed with six wonderful kids.

Associate Pastor

I was raised in a traditional Southern Baptist home in Ekron, Kentucky, and came to saving faith as a teenager. My faith began to grow significantly during college in Michigan, as I began to take seriously my responsibilities as a husband and father. After moving back to Kentucky, my home church offered many opportunities to serve and thereby recognize spiritual gifts which would be more effective with formal training. As I approach completion of my final degree from Southern Seminary, a PhD in Church History and Historical Theology, I’m delighted to serve our church as a Sunday School teacher and lay elder. I’m also thankful for my wife, Sherri, who has been my patient, faithful, and loving partner through thirty years of marriage, as well as twenty years of pastoral and itinerant preaching ministry. We have three grown children – Maddie, Nick, and Josh.
